How to Manage and Close a Position in Flipper V2

Manage your open position, adjust risk controls, or close it fully or partially from the Flipper V2 trading interface.

Manage your open position, adjust risk controls, or close it fully or partially from the Flipper V2 trading interface.

Where to manage your position

Your active trading information is available in the lower trading panel and in Portfolio.

You can review:

  • Positions — open positions, size, entry information, PnL, and position controls;

  • Pending — orders waiting to execute;

  • TP/SL — active take-profit and stop-loss instructions;

  • Filled / Order History — executed, cancelled, or rejected orders;

  • Position History — previous position activity;

  • Liquidation — liquidation records, if any;

  • Assets — Trading Account balances and collateral.

How to close a position

  1. Open Positions.

  2. Select the position you want to manage.

  3. Choose the close action.

  4. Select whether you want to:

    • close the position fully;

    • reduce only part of the position.

  5. Enter the amount or size you want to close.

  6. Review the order details.

  7. Confirm the close order.

  8. Wait for the order to execute.

  9. Check Positions and Position History to confirm the result.

If the result of a close order is unclear, do not submit another close immediately. First check the current position size, order status, and account balance.

Partial close

A partial close reduces the size of your existing position without closing it completely.

After execution:

  • the remaining position stays open;

  • the position size is reduced;

  • your margin and PnL values may update.

Reduce Only

When placing a separate order intended to reduce or close an existing position, use Reduce only when available.

Reduce only prevents the order from increasing your position size or opening a new position in the opposite direction.

Use Reduce only when your intention is only to reduce existing exposure.

Managing pending orders

A pending Limit order can be cancelled before it is filled.

Once an order has already been filled, it cannot be cancelled. You need to manage the resulting position instead.

Before placing another order, check Pending to make sure an earlier order is not still active.

Managing TP/SL

Active Take Profit and Stop Loss instructions are available under TP/SL.

You can review or manage them separately from the main position.

TP/SL can reduce risk, but execution at the exact selected price is not guaranteed during fast market conditions or limited liquidity.

Expected result

After a successful full close:

  • the position no longer appears under Positions;

  • the close activity appears in your trading history;

  • your Trading Account values update accordingly.

After a partial close:

  • the position remains open;

  • its size is reduced;

  • the relevant account and PnL values update.

If it doesn’t work

Try these checks:

  1. Check the current position size under Positions.

  2. Check whether the close order is still pending.

  3. Review Pending, Filled, and Position History.

  4. Check whether another active order or TP/SL instruction affects the position.

  5. Check your Trading Balance and position values before trying again.

If an error appears, take a screenshot or screen recording.

If a close appears failed, delayed, or the position status is unclear, do not repeatedly submit close orders. First verify the result of the original attempt.

If the issue continues, contact Flipper Support through Live Chat or Discord Support Ticket.
