Wallet, Trading Account and Trading Balance

Flipper V2 separates your wallet from your trading activity.

Understanding the difference between your Wallet, Trading Account, Trading Access, and Trading Balance helps explain why connecting a wallet, enabling trading, and depositing funds are separate actions.

How it works

Layer

What it does

Wallet

Confirms ownership and approves sensitive actions

Trading Account

Stores your Flipper V2 trading activity

Trading Access

Allows the current browser or device to use your Trading Account

Trading Balance

Holds funds available inside the Trading Account

Wallet

Your external wallet is used to:

  • connect to Flipper;

  • confirm wallet ownership;

  • approve message signatures;

  • approve supported network transactions.

Connecting your wallet does not automatically move your assets into Flipper V2.

Your wallet assets remain in your wallet until you complete a deposit.

Trading Account

Your Trading Account is linked to your connected wallet and contains your Flipper V2 trading activity.

It includes information such as:

  • orders;

  • positions;

  • trading history;

  • collateral;

  • PnL.

The Trading Account is created during the initial account setup.

Trading Access

Trading Access allows your current browser or device to use the Trading Account.

During the initial setup, it is enabled with the second wallet signature.

Trading Access may need to be enabled again if:

  • you use another browser;

  • you use another device;

  • your trading access expires;

  • browser data has been cleared.

Enabling trading again does not create a new Trading Account and does not move funds.

Trading Balance

Your Trading Balance is the balance available inside your Flipper V2 Trading Account after a successful deposit.

It can include:

  • deposited collateral;

  • available balance;

  • funds supporting open positions;

  • funds reserved for pending orders.

Wallet Balance vs. Trading Balance

Your Wallet Balance and Trading Balance are separate.

This means:

  • connecting a wallet does not make the wallet balance available for trading;

  • receiving tokens in your wallet does not automatically increase your Trading Balance;

  • you need to deposit funds before they can be used as trading collateral;

  • withdrawing moves available funds from the Trading Account back to your wallet.

A successful wallet connection does not mean that funds have been deposited.

How the full flow works

  1. Connect your wallet

  2. Create your Trading Account

  3. Enable trading

  4. Deposit funds

  5. Use your Trading Balance to place orders

The first two setup signatures do not move funds. Depositing funds is a separate action.

Switching wallets

If you connect a different wallet address, Flipper may show a different Trading Account and Trading Balance.

Always check the connected wallet address before depositing funds or placing an order.

Security reminder
Flipper will never ask for your seed phrase, private key, recovery phrase, or verification codes.
